How to Install PPML

This page is intended to serve as a basis of instruction for the installation of PPML. This page is for new users to PPML who have not run the installation process before. It will attempt to cover the basic installation and installation verification process.

Step One

Download and extract the mod loader. The download may be found in the GitHub Releases page. The mod loader is distributed as a ZIP file. You should have appropriate software to extract the ZIP file. This tutorial will use 7-Zip.

Once the release is downloaded, use your favored software to extract the contents to the PhoenixPoint/PhoenixPointWin64_Data/Managed directory. The location of this directory will change based on which store you downloaded the game from. (EGS or Windows Store)

Step Two

Double click the PhoenixPointModLoaderInjector.exe program to begin the injection process. This program is what inserts the code into Phoenix Point to allow it to load mods. This process will be automatic and relatively simple. You will be prompted to press a button to close the program window once the injection is complete.

Step Three

Run the game! Once you run the game at least once, it will create a Mods folder in the root of the game's directories. You may freely insert mod DLLs in this folder to see them loaded. If your mods aren't loading then check out the troubleshooting page for help.

You may also create the Mods folder yourself, but you must ensure it is in the correct directory.
