CERN User Account Registration Guide

Follow these instructions to acquire a CERN user account:

Step-by-Step Registration Process

1. Access the Registration Form:

   • Visit the following link to submit a registration form to the CMS secretariat: CMS User Registration.

2. Complete the Registration Form:

   • Click on the provided link and fill in the required information as indicated in the form.
   • Refer to the image below for guidance:

3. Submit Your Profile:

   • Click on the 'Ask CMS Secretariat' button. This will prompt the transmission of your profile to [email protected].
   • You will receive an acknowledgment email shortly, confirming the receipt of your profile.
   • You will then be provided with a link to upload a PDF file of your passport and to complete the registration form using the provided link.

     Note: Ensure your passport PDF is readable and clear. While you can use your ID, it is not recommended.

4. Upload Your Passport PDF:

   • Successfully upload your passport PDF file.
   • You will be directed to proceed to Step 2, where you can complete the 'New Member CMS Registration Form'.

5. Select Your Institute:

   • Choose the institute "TR" from the dropdown menu.
   • The form will automatically populate the address field.

6. Forward Your Registration Form:

   • You will encounter a page indicating that your registration form will be forwarded to the Institute representative of your institution, ISTANBUL-UNIV.

7. Complete Your Registration:

   • After completing your registration, you will receive an email titled "CMS Registration Confirmation" from CMSPEOPLE.
   • Upon receiving this email, you will be prompted to activate your account.

8. Activate Your Account:

   • You will be instructed to contact [email protected] for further assistance.
   • As part of the activation process, you will be required to submit a PDF file of either your passport or another form of identification.

Activation Process

1. Receive CERN Account User Name:

   • You will receive an email from [email protected] with your CERN account username.
   • The email will also ask you to write to "[email protected]" for "Activation of CERN Account" and to request a one-time password for your account.

2. Submit Identification Document:

   • Contact "[email protected]" and they will provide you with a Ticket No.
   • For security reasons, they will ask you to upload an identification document (Passport preferred, but ID is also acceptable) to the Cernbox using the following link: Cernbox Upload.
