1.1. How do the CAS Features Help Generate Value?
Our CAS features continuously optimize the app’s performance by adapting to environmental conditions. For example, we plan that Campus Picks will automatically adjusts its visual settings based on ambient lighting—ensuring the interface remains clear whether users are indoors or in bright outdoor settings. Additionally, the app monitors network conditions and switches to a low-bandwidth mode when connectivity is poor, reducing load times and preserving data. By dynamically adapting to these factors, the app minimizes user friction and enhances overall engagement, creating a smoother, more immersive experience that adds real value for the university community.
1.2. How do the Smart features Help Generate Value?
One of our smart feature is a location-based notification system that activates when a student is near a campus sports venue. Using the phone’s GPS sensor, Campus Picks detects when a user is within a set radius of an event and automatically sends a timely push notification about the game, along with details such as team information and potential Campus Coins rewards for attendance.
This feature addresses the specific business question, “Does the user appear to be near a university sports event?” By delivering relevant, real-time updates based on the user’s location, it increases spontaneous participation and engagement. In doing so, it not only enhances the user experience but also drives higher attendance and fosters a stronger, community-driven sports culture—thereby generating significant value for both the users and the university.
