This is a widespread issue in OEM Windows installs, a clean Windows install from official iso wont force users with any OEM recommended driver.

Windows used to have a tool to blacklist updates, WindowsUpdateShowHide, no longer provided by Microsoft but still available and working with latest OS, can be downloaded here.

Blacklist a specific driver update in Windows update, you will still be able to upgrade your drivers manually with official installers, but Windows update will no longer offer, and thus automatically download, that driver:

1. run windows update and let windows downgrade your drivers
2. disconnect from internet
3. install the new drivers from offline installers (you may want use DDU to clear any old drivers)
4. reboot
5. reconnect
6. run the wushowhide tool, select hide updates and wait for it to grab the updates available for your device
7. you should now see the driver update you want to blacklist, select it and hide the update
