ICPI PEPFAR Regional GIS Training

Training provided to PEPFAR stakeholders in Kigali, Rwanda from October 2016. This training was designed to provide the participants with knowledge and skills in the use of GIS software and geospatial data to better describe PEPFAR programmatic and research activities. Software requirements included: DATIM and QGIS. This document is available to USG only.

Boundary Editing in QGIS

This guide was created in support of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). It covers how to check topology & fix associated errors; how to align national borders of two different shapefiles; and how to edit subnational boundries to match a reference file such as OSM. This document is currently available to USG but may be shared more broadly upon request.

DHS QGIS Training Workshop

Training focuses on the application of Geographic Information System (GIS) in public health, specifically using maps for better program and policy decision making.These materials introduce participants to data concepts including management and cleaning of data in Excel, using maps as part of the decision making process, introduction to GIS concepts (including GPS data collection), and hands-on introduction to QGIS, an open source GIS software package.

ESRI Massive Open Online Courses

These free online classes offer a convenient, effective, and fun way to keep up with the fast-paced developments in the ArcGIS platform. Classes are open day and night and require only a couple of hours of study per week. A certificate is available upon completion.
