Onboarding Steps

This page describes the end-to-end steps required to onboard your Organization to IBM Food Trust™. For role-specific onboarding tasks, review the Welcome page.

Onboarding your organization to IBM Food Trust consists of the following steps:

1. Get Started

   • Review the Welcome page (for role-specific tasks)
   • Build your Onboarding Team (authorize users to upload data)
   • Invite your supply chain business partners (who you will share data with)

2. Map Your Processes

   • Model your supply chain processes (a Product Scenario Builder is available)
   • Identify data points (facilities, products, POs, DAs, RAs) on your supply chain
   • Identify and record your Facility and Product GS1 Identifiers
   • If necessary, request Facility and Product IBM Food Trust Identifiers
   • Map your supply-chain processes to corresponding EPCIS Events

3. Map Your Data

   • Review XML message formats (data types)
   • Map supply chain data to IBM Food Trust messages
   • XML Generation
   • Convert EPCIS events to XML

4. Prepare Data Integration

   • Manual message submission
   • Automate Data Upload
   • Select your Data Access Control Policy (authorize data sharing)

5. Client Code Completion

   • Enable access to IBM Food Trust (check firewalls)
   • Automatic (programmatic) message submission

6. Quality Assurance

   • End-to-end process mapping validation
