Marine Broth 2216

Composition:

Yeast Extract 1 g
Ferric Citrate 0,1 g
Sodium Chloride 19,45 g
Magnesium Chloride 5,9 g
Magnesium Sulfate 3,24 g
Calcium Chloride 1,8 g
Potassium Chloride 0,55 g
Sodium Bicarbonate 0,16 g
Potassium Bromide 0,08 g
Strontium Chloride 0,034 g
Boric Acid 0,022 g
Sodium Silicate 0,004 g
Sodium Fluoride 0,0024 g
Ammonium Nitrate 0,0016 g
Disodium Phosphate 0,008 g

Materials and Methods:

  • 37,4 g of Marine Broth powder (Ref. Marine Broth 2216, BD-Difco).
  • 1L of distilled water.
  • Filters 0,22 µm.
  1. Suspend 37,4 g of Marine Broth powder in 1 L of distilled water.
  2. Heat with frequent agitation and boil for 1 minute.
  3. Allow to cool and filter through 0,22µm membrane filter.
  4. Autoclave for 15 minutes at 121ºC.
  5. Store at 4ºC.

  1. Prepare the medium (1 L).
