Pulsar Scintillation - IAA-BURSTT/document GitHub Wiki
Overview
Regular monitoring of pulsar scintillation is an important tool to understanding small scale structures in the Interstellar Medium (ISM), determining pulsar distances (and occasionally masses), and understanding how to mitigate scattering as a scource of noise in Pulsar Tming Arrays (PTAs)
Long Term Goals
Regularly monitor interesting pulsars in order to measure screen and pulsar parameters, and search for transient scintillation structures.
Current Goals
- Form pulsar dynamic spectra from intensity recording to see if channels and integration times are short enough to detect scintillation
- Attempt baseband recording to get higher frequency resolution
