6.5 MOTOR AND BATTERY SIZING OF THE SYSTEM

Servo motors for flippers.

Material used: Plywood

Volume of the flipper: 87.415 cc

Density of wood: 0.760 g/cc

Mass of the flipper: 87.415* 0.760=66.43754 grams.

Coefficient of friction=0.3

Force required=Umg= 0.3* 66.43754* 9.8=0.195 newton.

Length of the arm: 3 cm

TORQUE=0.195*3=0.585 N-cm

Factor of safety=1.5

Total torque=1.5*0.585=0.8755 N cm

Servo motor specifications: SG90 SERVO MOTOR

DC Motor for Drawer.

Material Used: Acrylic sheet

Volume of the Drawer: 1008 cc

Density of Acrylic sheet: 1.15 g/cc

Total mass of the Drawer: 1759.2 g

Coefficient of Friction: 0.4

Force=um=0.4* 1.7592=0.70368

Radius of pinion= 2cm

Torque= F*r=1.407 N-cm

Factor of Safety= 1.5

Total Torque= 2.11104 N-cm

DC motor: 60 rpm DC motor
