DC motor selection

Total volume= 615.70 cm^3. Mass = Density x volume = 0.96 x 615.70 = 591 gm.

Force= mass*coefficient of friction = 591 x 0.4 = 236.4 gm.

Torque= Force x r = 236.4 x 15 = 3.546 kg-cm. FOS=1.5

Total torque= 3.456 x 1.5 = 5.319 kg-cm

Therefore, 30 rpm DC motor is suitable.

Servo motor selection

Total volume= 517.12 cm^3. Mass = Density x volume = 0.96 x 517.12 = 496.43 gm.

Force= mass*coefficient of friction = 496.43 x 0.4 = 198.57 gm.

Torque= Force x r = 198.57 x 3 = 595.72 kg-cm.

FOS=1.5

Total torque= 595.72 x 1.5 = 0.893 kg-cm

Therefore, tower pro SG-90 servo motor is suitable.
