the 'Travelling Jester' throne room encounter is the 16th encounter in the throne room, it can only occur if the king allows rabble in his court.

The encounter text is as follows 'You are visited by a travelling jester who says he just wishes to tell you a joke'

your options are

• Listen to the joke (tells random joke)
• To the dungeons with him (1 in 3 chance of -1 public op)(+1 prisoner)
• Refuse to hear the joke (the man leaves sad)

if you listen to the joke, he tells a random joke and then you are given the following message "he seems to be awaiting your response to the joke"

1. That was a good joke (1 in 12 chance of +1 public op)
2. That joke was terrible (the man leaves sad)
3. That was a good enough joke to be paid (20 gold) (-20 gold 1 in 6 chance of +1 public op)
4. That joke was so bad... To the Dungeons with him (1 in 2 chance of -1 public op)(+1 prisoner)
