The 'Old Hag' Encounter is the 18th encounter in the throne room, it is the first encounter that uses a harpy face

the encounter text says "you are visited by an old hag who claims one of your soldiers stole a magical apple from her, she demands you pay 250 gold for her to replace it, if not she warns of dire consequences"

Your option are

• Pay the 250 gold (old hag goes away) but if you do not have the gold you get cursed
• Pay 500 gold (old hag goes away) but if you do not have the gold you get cursed
• Refuse (you get cursed)
• KILL THE WITCH (old hag dies)
• To the dungeons with her (you get cursed)

There is no reason to give her 500 gold, she will go away regardless of what you do, but claims she will bless you, this is a lie.

The curses vary in three levels, the weakest curse is if you promise to give her gold but don't have to gold to give her, there are three possible curses, as well as a 25% chance the curse won't happen

• +12 Deserters
• Lose all your gold
• Rebels/Bandits gain 50 troops (if both factions are dead nothing happens)

the mid level curse is if you refuse to help her, there are three possible curses as well as a 25% chance the curses won't happen.

• +24 Deserters
• Lose all your gold
• Rebels/Bandits gain 100 troops (if both factions are dead nothing happens)

the worst curse is if you try to arrest her, she will burst into smoke and there is a 75% chance you will get a curse, the curses are one of the three below.

• +48 Deserters
• Lose all your gold
• Rebels/Bandits gain 200 troops (if both factions are dead nothing happens)

The best option in this encounter is the KILL THE WITCH option!
