The Knights Payrise is the 36th encounter in the throne room, it can only occur if you have more than 3 knights and your knightly wage is 3 gold per year.

The encounter text is as follows "you are visited by a knight from your army, he claims that he and his fellow knights are disgruntled with their pay and seek a payrise to 4 gold per year"

1. Agree to the payrise (Wage goes up by 1 gold per knight each year)
2. Refuse the payrise (1 IN 5 chance of 3 knights deserting)
3. To the Dungeons with him! (-1 knight)(+1 prisoner)(guaranteed desertion from 10 to 1000 knights but more likely to be 10)
4. Execute the man for treason (-1 knight)(guaranteed desertion from 10 to 1000 knights)

The worst thing you can do in this encounter is to execute or imprison your knight, this is a disastrous move and if you have a large number of knights it could create a huge faction of deserters that will be hard to stop, the best option is to refuse or accept, if you have 100 knights, accepting this will cost you 100 gold extra per year, however you can lower the wages again.
