The 'Independent Messenger' Encounter is the 12th encounter made for the throne room, it will come from one of the five kingdoms at random, though can only happen if the kingdom doesn't dislike you (ie a relation of 0 or above), they must also have at least 1 land and must have a civilisation level of 4 or above.

The encounter you get will depend on the personality of the ruler of the nation

• friendly - Leader sends their regards
• Hostile - Some form of insult depending on your relationship with them (nicer comments at better relation)
• Merchant - An offer of trade deals or a thank you for trading
• Stupid - A stupid message that makes no sense
• Neutral - Same as friendly
• Weird - One of several weird events

Each of them aside from the merchants trade deal offer give you the following choices

• Thank him (+1 faction relation)
• Do Nothing (-1 faction relation)
• To the dungeons (chance of -10 faction relation)
