The 'Army Payrise' Encounter is the third encounter created for the throne room, it can only occur if the player has more than ten soldiers, the soldier wage is 1 and public opinion is lower than 40.

The encounter text states "you are visited by a soldier from your army, he claims that many soldiers are disgruntled with their pay and seek a payrise to 2 gold per year"

your options are

• Agree to the payrise (results: wage increases to 2)
• Refuse the payrise (results: 20% chance that 10 soldiers desert)
• To the dungeons with him (result: -1 soldier, 20% chance of up to 1000 soldiers deserting)
• Execute him for treason (result: -1 soldier, 20% chance of up to 1000 soldiers deserting)

With this kind of encounter the best option is either to agree or refuse, any severe response to it could result in a massive blow to the army.
