The Thickblood Tavern is a located in the Near North, and is owned by Ulfberth the Unyielding.

Lore

The Thickblood tavern was the seat of the ancient northern clan Thickblood and held by their descendants for a long time before a travelling brewer convinced the protectors of the ancient seat of the Clan to turn it into a tavern.

Drinks

There is only one drink on offer at the Thickblood tavern, Local Northern Ale priced at a modest 1 gold per drink.

Things to do

There are several things to do at the Thickblood Tavern:

  • You can have a drink
  • You can speak to the Bartender (4 unique dialogues)
  • You can speak to a customer (many random unique dialogues)
  • You can watch a Brawl (and hire the winner if you wish)
  • You can pay the dice game 'Sudden Death' (Northern Rules)
  • You can view the blade of clan thickblood
  • You can buy the tavern and run it yourself
  • You can try to hire some local bandits
  • Attack the tavern

Hiring Bandits

You may hire bandits from the Thickblood tavern as long as you don't have a public opinion of over 35 and dont have the bandit scourge law active, the bandits cost 40 gold each and you can buy as many as are available.

Attacking the Thickblood Tavern

Attacking the Thickblood tavern is no easy task, firstly if Fort Northwatch stands independent and has more than 100 men, half of them will come to defend the Thickblood tavern.

As well as a random number between 5-104 Thickblood Wildermen, between 2 and 21 Thickblood mercenaries, and between 20 and 269 misc Thickblood supporters.

Any unhired Thickblood bandits will also take part in the fight as well.

Owning the Tavern

It is possible to buy and run the Thickblood tavern yourself, to do so you must speak to the bartender and pay 45'000 gold coins, afterwhich the tavernkeeper will disappear and the tavern will be yours. Alternatively you can take the tavern by attacking it.

Once the tavern is owned you will be able to drink anytime for free and get the below screen

And you will be able to upgrade the taverns decor and size to increase profits and customer numbers, there will also be a flag placed next to the tavern with the symbol of Aslona 'A' or whichever symbol you choose in the kingdom reports menu.

Trivia

The tavern keep 'Ulfberth the Unyeilding' is a light reference to Uthgerd the Unbroken from skyrim.

The Thickblood tavern is the only bar that can be attacked directly.
