Who regulates radio and radio frequencies?

Federal Communications Commission (FCC)

What Frequencies are we permitted to use?
Here are the radio frequencies we CAN use without an FCC license:
Citizens Band Radio Service (CBRS)
- Used for short distance communication
- Operates on 26.965 MHz and 27.405 MHz
- Most commonly used by truckers
Family Radio Service(FRS)
- Used for Walkie talkies
- FRS 2 way radios have 22 channels (that operates on the 462-467 MHz range)
- FRS works best in urban applications
Multi-Use Radio Services (MURS)
- Radio used for walkie talkies
- Operates on channels 151-154 MHZ frequency range
- works better in rural areas
