Inspecting devices in physical mode:

In physical mode you can right click on the device you can inspect the front of the back of a device at a larger viewing

Cabling devices in physical mode

Click on the cable you want to use then you click on the first port it goes to in the first device, and then you click on the second port you want it to go to on the second device.

  • Wireless cables, USB cables

What is the difference between the wiring closet Rack, Table and Shelf?

  • Heavy devices such as servers and network devices are mounted on the rack. PCs, laptops and other "personal" devices are placed on the table. The shelf is for unused devices.

How does logical mode differ from physical mode?

  • Logical mode provides a high level view of our network toplogy, and ignores any of the physical aspect of the network. Physical mode takes account of the physical scale and placement of the devices in the network.
