The Hovering Inferno - How-Bout-No/Outvoted GitHub Wiki
Original Description: This is a master Blaze, with body parts, [that] look like shields, used to defend itself. The Hovering Inferno spawns with a group of blazes as a random encounter in the Nether. It has a shockwave attack that is very dangerous and you will definitely need some flame protection to defeat this mob. You should vote for Mob D, because it would make the Nether even more scary and exciting.
The Hovering Inferno
Overview
The Hovering Inferno is a blaze-like mob but with more health and armor. It has a very low chance to spawn in the Nether accompanied by a group of Blazes whose size is dependent on difficulty, 2-3 on Easy, 3-4 on Normal, and 4-5 on Hard. It also has a 10% chance to spawn out of a Blaze Spawner.
Abilities
- Send out waves of fireballs in all directions, which scales depending on the health
- Knockback players away that get too close
- Can put up its shields to become invulnerable to damage, which can be disabled with a fully charged critical axe hit
Drops
- Drops 1-3 Blaze Rods (Affected by Looting)
- 15% chance (+5% per Looting level) to drop a "Shattered Blaze Piece". This can be used to craft an "Inferno Shield Part", which combined with a normal Shield in a Smithing Table grants an "Inferno Shield".
- Very small chance (5%; +2.5% per Looting level) to drop an Inferno Helmet which offers some armor value, and when worn grants "infinite" fire resistance. However, the catch is that every second the player is on fire, it consumes 1 durability, and consumes 1 additional durability every 15 seconds. The helmet can not be enchanted via an enchanting table but can be used at an anvil. All enchantments can be applied with the exception of Mending.
For example, after a straight minute on fire it will start to take 5 durability/second, so don't just sit in lava if you want the helmet to last.
