Here is a list of improvements in order of importance (IMHO):

Rear axle with diff

Unless you are going to drive on a high grip indoor track then a differential is going to do a major improvement.

You can either:

  1. make your own: HPD Evo 2 & 3 Ball differential
  2. or adapt an axle from a commercial supplier. You need to print adapters (Download here and usually make some minor mechanical alterations to keep within width limits. Ask on the forum if you have problems.

Shock absorber.

The car works surprising well with the plastic spring but you can get a much more controlled performance with a shock absorber.

You can use any 49mm -> 65mm shock absorber like the ones to Tamiya TT01/TT02.

I also suggest Rear suspension mod as it gives a softer spring rate.

Framed rear suspension.

Framed rear suspension gives a more durable car. As a plus it also limits the suspension travel.

Side dampers.

Side damper tubes gives a more predictable behaviour in bumpy corners.

Transverse battery chassis.

Transverse battery chassis gives a simpler and more balanced layout. The left/right balance problem you get when having the heavy ESC out on one side and a light receiver on the other is much less pronounced as they are now close together.

Competition front suspension.

This is mandated under some regulations and if you are in such region you do not have much of a choice. It is important on high grip indoor tracks.

The competition front suspension] gives possibility to adjust camber and caster which can potentially help on some circumstances.
