Project Overview
Hitchhikify project comprises an Android application and the supporting backend for keeping track of statistics related to distances, waiting times etc. during hitchhiking trips, i.e. asking people, usually, strangers, for a ride.
Project goals
After successful completion of the project, the following goals will have been reached:
G1. Trip statistics and achievements can be saved and displayed in hitchhiker's profile so that he or she can satisfy his/her vanity.
G2. Hitchhiking is made safer in the way family/friends can be notified about hitchhiker's location in 1 click in case of trouble.
G3. Knowledge from university courses, such as Requirements Engineering, Software Architecture and others, as well as new technologies are applied in practice resulting in a decent project for the GitHub profiles and the CVs of the contributors.
Project Scope
Out of scope:
- looking for a ride and offering ride
- communication between hitchhikers within the application, friends and other social network features (at least for the first time)
