Project Overview & Summary‐ Sprint 2 - Hinduino/CareerConnect GitHub Wiki
Sprint 2 – Feature Summary
Sprint 2 focused on improving the main features of the job recruitment platform and introducing two new features: an automated pipeline and an AI chatbot. The goal was to enhance the user interface, connect the different parts of the application, and make sure the existing features worked properly with the database and server.
1. User Profile and Resume Management (THANH)
During Sprint 2, we continued improving the user profile and resume management system. We focused on making sure users could easily access and update their personal information and manage their resumes. Some changes were also made to the user interface, database, and backend to ensure that everything worked correctly together.
-
Allow job seekers to create, view, and edit their professional profiles.
-
Allow users to upload, replace, and manage their resumes.
-
Display uploaded resumes and profile information.
-
Improve the user interface and fix database and server connections.
2. Job Search and Job Listing Interface (KAVYA)
For this feature, we focused on improving how users search for and view available jobs. The goal was to make job searching easier by displaying relevant job opportunities and giving users the chance to filter the results. We also worked on connecting the interface to the backend and database to ensure that job information was displayed correctly.
-
Display available job opportunities.
-
Provide search and filtering based on keywords, location, or category.
-
Allow users to view detailed job descriptions.
-
Ensure job listings are properly connected to the database and server.
3. Job Application Submission and Tracking (KAVYA AND NAZILA)
During Sprint 2, we continued developing the job application and tracking system. This functionality enables individuals to apply for jobs and keep track of their applications. We focused on making the application process easier to use and ensuring that users could view their application status after submitting an application.
-
Allow job seekers to apply for available job postings.
-
Track application status (Applied, Under Review, Interview, Offered, Rejected).
-
Provide confirmation after successful application submission.
-
Allow users to view and manage their submitted applications.
4. Recruiter Dashboard and Posting Management (THANH AND HIND)
Development of the recruiter dashboard started during Sprint 2 and will continue into Sprint 3. This feature focuses on allowing recruiters to manage job postings and view applications submitted by job seekers. We worked on building the interface, connecting the frontend to the backend, and making the necessary database changes to support recruiter functionalities.
-
Allow recruiters to create, edit, and manage job postings.
-
Display applications received for each job posting.
-
Allow recruiters to view applicant information and submitted resumes.
-
Connect the recruiter dashboard to the backend and database.
Continue development and improvements during Sprint 3.
5. Build a Pipeline (NEW FEATURE - JOHNNY)
During Sprint 2, we introduced a new feature focused on building an automated development pipeline. The purpose of this pipeline is to make the development process more efficient by automating tasks such as building and testing the application. It also helps the team detect issues earlier and makes integrating changes from different team members easier.
-
Create an automated pipeline for the project.
-
Automate the build and testing processes.
-
Detect errors when new code is integrated.
-
Improve code integration and reduce manual development tasks.
Help maintain the stability of the application.
6. AI Chatbot Integration (NEW FEATURE - JOHNNY)
Another new feature introduced during Sprint 2 was the AI chatbot. The goal of this feature is to make the user experience better through the provision of assistance directly within the application. Users will be able to interact with the chatbot to ask questions related to job searching, applications, and other platform features. This feature is intended to make the platform easier to navigate and provide users with quicker access to information.
-
Integrate an AI chatbot into the application.
-
Allow users to ask questions and receive automated responses.
-
Provide assistance related to job searching and applications.
-
Help users understand and navigate the platform.
-
Connect the chatbot to the frontend and backend.
7. Enhanced User Registration and Login Validation (UPDATED FEATURE - HIND)
During Sprint 2, Hind worked on improving the registration and login system that was initially developed in Sprint 1. The goal was to make the authentication process more secure and easier to use. The interface was updated to separate the login and registration forms, while additional validation was added to both the frontend and backend. These improvements help prevent registration errors, provide clearer feedback to users, and ensure that account information is properly validated.
-
Separate the Login and Sign Up modes within the authentication interface.
-
Add a Confirm Password field during registration.
-
Validate that passwords match on both the frontend and backend.
-
Validate email formats and normalize email addresses by removing extra spaces and converting them to lowercase.
-
Prevent users from registering multiple accounts with the same email address.
-
Display clear success and error messages during registration and login.
-
Automatically log users into their accounts after successful registration.
-
Maintain compatibility with the existing authentication and user profile features.
Sprint 2 – Overall Summary
Sprint 2 was mainly dedicated to the improvement of the features developed in Sprint 1 and the addition of new features to the platform. The team worked on user profiles, job search, application tracking and recruiter management. We also made changes to the database, backend and user interface to improve the interaction between the different parts of the application.
This sprint brought two new features: the automated pipeline and the AI chatbot. These additions are meant to enhance both the development process as well as the experience for users. Some features, especially the recruiter dashboard will be further developed and enhanced in Sprint 3.
