Sprint Planning 7/6/2020 1:11-1:56

Did ice breaker. Explained how project will be managed. Described how sprints will be 2 days and tasks will be assigned. Hours will be estimated for tasks and they will be broken down in bullet points in the comments of the issue. Daily check-ins should be done every day before midnight and include what was done before the last meeting/ check-in, any impediments that you faced, and what you will get done before the next meeting/ check-in. Wrote example in Discord. Meeting notes, schedules, agendas, contact info, retrospectives, working agreement, and daily check-in bullets will be put in the wiki. Went over team’s familiarity and confidence with developing for the Doom Engine. Team was confident with developing for the Doom engine, but they need time to get familiar with it. Clarified aspects of the game including what types of weapons and enemies there will be. Created tasks to fill backlog and assigned tasks for the first sprint.

Sprint Planning 7/8/2020 1:02-1:42

Went over logging hours. Went over what was done during the sprint. Player would have magic staff. Cultists can fire plasma balls from their hands. Discussed types of weapons and enemies we are thinking about implementing. We will start with developing the players staff, but we want to differentiate it enough from Heretic. We discussed having innocent people running around that the player can kill. Sammy can start programming for weapons that we don’t have designed yet, he will work on the dagger this sprint. Myrissa will focus on designing game assets while Ryan will work on designing the first level of the game. We created and assigned new tasks. We came up with a working agreement. We will be using GZDoom to test the game. Sunday at 7 meeting to play Sammy’s hangman.

Sprint Planning 7/10/2020 1:08-1:47

Went over list of items Myrissa made. Have first cultist player encounters stand still while attacking, then have others slowly walk as they attack. Charge time when cultist stands still to attack. Team will keep in mind potential names for the game and will decide later in the project. Nobody is expected to work during the weekends, but anyone can assign themselves tasks over the weekend if they want to. Added tasks to backlog, prioritized them, and assigned tasks for the weekend.

Sprint Planning 7/13/2020 1:02-1:48

Held sprint retrospective. We reviewed our work and closed some of our tasks. Sammy and Ryan talked about issues facing getting the Basic Cultist enemy to work in game. Maybe having all the sprites implemented would fix some of the issues we are facing with the cultist. We figured out that markers before and after the sprite files were preventing the code from working, but now the Cultist is invisible in game. We assigned tasks for next sprint.

Showed progress, closed tasks, and assigned new tasks. Have files put in the repository and keep that as up to date as possible.

Sprint Planning 7/17/2020 1:01-1:31

Went over how red cross cannot be used in video games so Myrissa will make changes to the health packs. Basic staff works, but we are thinking of adding a more powerful secondary fire with a long charge-up. Team is happy with how the Cultist building looks but something should be in the center on top. Will set up invisible 3D walls in some areas to allow some railings to be jumped over. Closed tasks and assigned new tasks for the weekend. Set up time to meet again to play a game on Sunday at 7.

Sprint Planning 7/20/2020 1:01-1:46

Held sprint retrospective. Have cultist at start turned away from player that will drop staff on death. Player starts with dagger and with stab him. Make either one cultist that drops staff or have all of them drop staffs that replenish ammo. Sammy did not get to programming health, ammo, and powerup pickups this weekend. Potions will be powerups to increase speed, damage dealt, and decrease damage taken. Created and assigned tasks.

Sprint Planning 7/22/2020 1:02-1:41

Team was not getting message notifications in Discord, they were asked to check the chat more often. Team showed off what was done during last sprint. Sammy got done the health pickups and Player will start with only dagger and will kill cultist from behind to get staff. Dagger will replace the fist and the staff will replace the pistol. We created and assigned tasks for the next sprint. We will focus on getting one more enemy finished and if we have time we will implement one more weapon. We brainstormed ideas for the name. List will be put in the Wiki where anyone can add their ideas whenever they think of new ones.

Sprint Planning 7/24/2020 1:02-1:32

Went over README expectations. Ryan will write everything for it and Sammy will format everything. Went over previous tasks. Blue potion is 30% less damage, red potion doubles damage for 10 seconds, green potion reduces enemy damage by 50 percent for 15 seconds. Ammo gives 13 ammo. Max of 666 ammo. Went over presentation. Ryan will start presentation and share it with everyone on Google Slides. In addition to what we went over in the last presentation, we will also touch on art direction. We created and assigned tasks for the weekend.

Sprint Planning 7/27/2020 1:05-1:26

Held retrospective. Showed progress and closed tasks. Next weapon will be a semi-automatic AR-15. Chose name “Faithless”. Sammy was not present at the meeting. Sammy was caught up later in the day.

Sprint Planning 7/29/2020 1:02-1:36

Showed progress and closed tasks. Sammy lost progress but will finish AR-15 by the end of today. Assigned new tasks. Going to try to implement custom face onto Doomguy’s face by Friday but the scope of the task is unknown on the programming end. Went over presentation. Myrissa will present the art slide that she made and Sammy will present a Doom engine slide that he will make.

Showed progress and closed tasks. Went over README and will finishing getting everything in it. Briefly went over presentation.
