Weapon lore and provenance
A recognizable redesign preserves the weapon's place in AoA, not only its colors or damage values. Check this before approving its canonical concept, and keep it consistent across Minecraft-fit and concept-faithful presentation.
Required research for every weapon
- Pin the release and exact item ID. Similar names and later versions may have different origins or behavior.
- Trace acquisition, recipe ingredients, upgrade ancestry, associated dimensions, mobs, factions and materials.
- Record explicit lore and creator statements where available. Identify whose statement it is and retain a source.
- Compare the original sprite/model with its world's plants, creatures, structures and material language.
- Separate confirmed facts, visual interpretations and newly proposed flavor. Unknown makers or construction stories stay unknown.
- Explain which visual landmarks carry that identity into the concept, model, textures, effects, variants and animations.
- Do not infer damage effects from the environment: a toxic setting does not automatically give the weapon poison damage.
- Recheck both visual treatments. The aesthetic switch must preserve the same lore and mechanical identity.
Apoco: what is confirmed
The pinned AoA 3.7.1 recipe upgrades Mechanical Assault Rifle with Apoco Upgrade Kit into Apoco Assault Rifle. The packaged Vox Ponds world loot table includes that kit. The distinct Apoco Rifle instead upgrades from Discharge Rifle. These are different weapon IDs.
The official upgrade-kit reference also associates the kit with Vox Ponds. Its documented setting combines pollution, fungi, damaged vegetation, ruins and robotic inhabitants. Vox Ponds reference
One step further back, its incomplete base comes from Iro Crates, associated with Iromine; Power Core and Mecha Gear complete the Mechanical Assault Rifle. Iro Crate reference
This establishes a mechanical ancestry plus the Vox Ponds upgrade connection. It does not identify an in-world inventor or prove where the upgrade was physically performed. Retained data/assets also do not by themselves establish native dimension availability in a particular target release.
Apoco: what remains interpretation
Reading the red upper shapes as fungal caps and the lower fittings as roots is a plausible visual interpretation, but the checked sources do not establish the original artist's intent. Preserve that possibility instead of automatically converting every rounded form into a metal machine housing. Clearly label any added fungal growth, root construction or new backstory as our adaptation unless a source confirms it.
The replacement concept must undergo this lore review before model acceptance. Its current mechanical treatment is not exempt merely because its outline is closer than the rejected first design.
Research index for the whole first-target armory
Version-pinned acquisition and upgrade data index covers all 228 registered first-target IDs. It identifies recipe and loot references to guide further research; it does not claim complete lore, maker intent or live availability. Every weapon still requires an individual evidence review.
Artwork also needs a version pin
Released weapon art comparison checks the 228 first-target IDs against the current production 1.21.1 archive. Thirty-five direct texture sets differ in decoded pixels, including Baronator and Iominator. Soul Storm retains its sprite but changes its model parent. Preserve the selected version and owner-approved concept; neither a newer image nor a matching ID automatically proves a better or behaviorally equivalent replacement.
Searchable packaged references
Browse the 228-weapon implementation atlas. Each card now links its original item preview and lazily expands packaged recipe, upgrade-kit and direct loot-table references. Search by weapon, ingredient/tag, upgrade input or a world-table name such as vox_ponds.
These are version-pinned references, not proof of active dimension availability, exact ingredient quantities, a weapon maker or creator intent. Missing direct recipes do not exclude other acquisition paths. Full source-backed profiles remain a smaller reviewed subset; no native upgraded weapon is accepted.
Example: Apoco Assault Rifle. The live browser check confirms its Mechanical Assault Rifle upgrade input and packaged Vox Ponds kit-table reference. The Guns filter was also repaired and now exposes all 78 gun registrations in this target.
