Historical swords: materials and attack inputs

Minecraft 1.12.2 / AoA 3.3.6. All 36 entries in the released sword registration group are joined to exact item identities, their tool-material definitions and speed arguments. This source group includes Troll Basher Axe; its name does not change the registration family.

Read these numbers correctly

The damage column below is the tool material's declared attack-damage bonus, supplied to Forge's material constructor. It is not the final player attack damage, health loss or a comparable substitute for every other family's damage field. BaseSword initializes its own damage from ItemSword's attack-damage getter, then its AoA getter can multiply by 1.25 under AoA's hardcore option.

The material also supplies max-use/durability and enchantability inputs. Those values do not prove a specific recipe, repair acquisition route, enchantment outcome or final number of successful attacks.

A zero speed argument means use WeaponSpeed.NORMAL, whose released value is −2.4. Nonzero arguments are retained. These are attack-speed modifier values, not seconds or attacks per second. The table shows the resolved modifier; exact constructor windows remain in the evidence.

Cooldown and subclass effects

BaseSword records the player's cooled attack strength in its miscellaneous-stack capability when left-clicking an entity. Its hit hook passes that stored value into doMeleeEffect before delegating to the parent hit behavior. Individual swords can use that hook differently; the table does not certify every sword's effect, proc chance or resource interaction.

Restoration must preserve the capability and cooldown handoff, rather than assuming a non-null capability will always exist in a changed environment. Test weak and fully cooled attacks, missing capability data, main/offhand interactions and multiplayer synchronization separately.

A zero material bonus is not proof that a sword has no useful behavior. Holy Sword, for example, also declares a separate use route; it is not ranked here by a material input alone.

Practical and restoration checklist

  1. Keep the release and family fixed when comparing inputs. A material bonus and a direct damage field are different quantities.
  2. Use the linked item portrait and exact same-release recipe/drop searches for acquisition; registration alone does not prove Survival availability.
  3. Compare normal and AoA-hardcore settings, cooldown states, target defenses, attributes and enchantments independently.
  4. Test the actual hit, effect, wear and synchronization path before claiming final damage, DPS, range or compatibility.
  5. Retain each weapon's identity in optional animated remodels; do not replace these mechanics with generic firearm rules.
