Mastercraft and Mythic Animation References - Herbertofury/Advent-of-Ascension GitHub Wiki
Mastercraft and Mythic weapon animation references
Owner-selected major reference collections. Study the entire Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 Mastercraft collections and the supplied COD Mobile Mythic showcase for imaginative weapon design, distinctive inspections, transformations, reload presentation, reactive materials and defeat effects. Also include relevant playful weapons from other COD titles as the reference catalogue grows. Translate those qualities into original AoA designs.
Main cross-game reference playlist
Owner-selected Mastercraft playlist · Organized 62-video index. The visible playlist has 63 entries with one repeated video. It broadens the reference scope across BO4, Vanguard, MW3, BO6, BO7 and other uploader-labeled titles. Titles are verified metadata; actual sequence review remains separately tracked.
Requested showcase collections
| Collection | Video | Verification status |
|---|---|---|
| Black Ops 6 Mastercraft inspections | Dan Allen Gaming showcase | Page/title and 10:04 duration verified in browser; frame-by-frame inspection pending because playback buffered |
| Black Ops 7 Mastercraft weapons | Showcase matching the requested title | Located by title; full visual review and later-release reconciliation pending |
| COD Mobile Mythic inspections, reloads and kill effects | BULLSSYY’s 26-weapon showcase | Separate video/title, BULLSSYY channel, 1 February 2025 publication and 14:32 duration verified; visual sequence review pending |
The first video's publication date is 8 August 2025 according to its indexed metadata. “All” in a showcase title is scoped to that video's coverage, not proof that it includes every later release. The full BO6 reference goal therefore includes reconciling the video against later official releases. Do not invent timestamps, weapon names or observed animation actions when footage has not actually played.
Black Ops 7: full collection goal
Include all BO7 Mastercraft weapons, inspections, transformations, reactive presentation, tracers and defeat effects. The official Vault Edition page identifies a five-weapon starting collection; that is not the whole later catalogue. The official Season 3 announcement names the Maglev Mastercraft, and Season 4 names Cardiac Arrest. Track seasonal additions separately before claiming exhaustive coverage.
Officially documented examples to investigate
- Mecha Drake / Draconic Forge: a coherent creature-themed Mastercraft package with related animated presentation. The official Season 1 page identifies the blueprint and associated cosmetics. Study creature personality and material cohesion; do not claim a specific inspection sequence from this announcement alone.
- Gumball Ballistics and Zaptastic / iDEAD: the official bundle listing identifies its two Mastercraft blueprints. This is a useful playful-object/weapon reference family; actual inspection timing still needs footage review.
- Lore Accurate and Long Arm: the official Season 5 showcase documents Mastercraft blueprints with named tracer/death-effect packages. Study coherent effect families rather than unrelated particle spam.
- Holger 26 — Dark Frontier: the official Mythic article describes multiple attachment skins, death effects, muzzle flashes and four reactive animation stages. Useful for readable progression and preserving identity across attachments.
- AS VAL — Double Edge: the official article describes a changing electric presentation and selectable defeat effects. Useful for distinct cosmetic effect channels.
- MG42 — The Campaign: the official Season 4 article describes a miniature battlefield across the weapon and reactive fire/smoke. Useful inspiration for tiny animated AoA realm scenes, with strict readability and performance budgets.
These examples are a verified starting set, not a completed list of every Mastercraft/Mythic weapon or a claim that each appears in the supplied videos.
Turn an inspect into a short character moment
For each original AoA weapon, storyboard a readable sequence: invitation → reveal → interaction → payoff → safe recovery. Mix restrained everyday inspections with rarer elaborate flourishes. Keep a quick cancel path and a short inspection option. Do not let a long cinematic delay required combat input or leave props/arms stranded after cancellation.
Proposed original AoA examples:
- Soul Storm: its default Soul Flame leans toward the player's palm, a small wisp circles the chamber, the fitted disc emitters pulse in sequence, and the wisp settles back into the flame. Candle and Gem variants get appropriate interactions instead of showing a missing flame mount.
- Baronator: a miniature spectral sea appears within an optional inspection ornament, followed by a tiny upper/lower broadside salute. This cosmetic salute cannot fire damaging projectiles, consume ammunition or advance gameplay barrel parity.
- Minigun: a brief controlled rotor inspection shows orderly motion and a tiny industrial-core diagnostic. Hands stay away from moving barrel geometry, and canceling returns the same firing state.
- Soul Drainer: a playful captured wisp approaches the golden ring, slips between the claw-like emitters and returns. The flourish cannot heal the player or affect a target.
- Abominator: purple inlays form a temporary rune puzzle along its silver stripe, then resolve into the installed emblem. Preserve the actual installed barrel and charm layout.
These are our design proposals, not descriptions of the COD videos.
Inspection and customization QA
- Validate start, loop/hold, normal end and cancellation at every major beat, including weapon swap, attack, damage interruption, sprint, death and disconnect.
- Distinguish a weapon inspect from a target finisher and a defeat effect; each has different eligibility and ownership rules.
- Preserve actual ammunition/Spirit, cooldown, attachments and authoritative damage while performing cosmetic flourishes.
- Test all barrel, sight, charm and decal combinations. Missing props must fail visibly in authoring QA, not disappear silently in release.
- Keep stable aim references, bounded lights/particles and adjustable flash/motion. Reuse loaded resources instead of rescanning on every inspect.
- Preserve the requested meaningful visual changes for functional parts. The official BO6 attachment-skin notes describe cosmetic look overrides; if we offer similar overrides, the UI must still accurately expose functional differences.
Complete-reference ledger still to build
- Catalogue every BO7 Mastercraft, including later seasonal releases, with verified sources and inspection timestamps.
- Catalogue every BO6 Mastercraft with base weapon, blueprint name and release source.
- Record verified timestamped inspection beats from the supplied BO6 video.
- Catalogue the 26 weapons covered by the supplied COD Mobile video, with verified inspection/reload/defeat-effect timestamps.
- Reconcile later additions separately; do not label a dated video as permanently exhaustive.
- Select additional fun COD weapons with explicit reasons and sources.
- Translate findings into original AoA storyboards, assets and native tests.
