The overall architecture of the Hephaestus System consists of three interoperating parts:

1. The Hephaestus Scanner Application
   • Runs on a desktop personal computer.
   • Interacts with a MS Kinect hardware.
   • Saves the output as a file or uploads it to a MIDAS server

2. A MIDAS server.
   • See installation guide.
   • Administrators can add users and communities to suit their organizational needs via the web interface.
3. The KiwiMidas (MIDAS+Kiwiviewer) App.
   • This specialized version of Kiwiviewer is ideal for our project.
