FW1

Overview

FW1 is a pfSense virtual router that will route traffic from the SYS265 VLAN and the SYS265 WAN. The machine will be configured manually through the command line and activated using a windows workstation.

Set-up

• Begin by setting the network interfaces
• VMX0/em0 → WAN (10.0.17.14)
• VMX1/em1 → LAN (LAN IP: 10.0.5.2)
• Test connectivity
• option (8) to enter shell and issue [ping google.com]

ON W1

• go to https://10.0.5.2
• Hostname: fw1-group14
• Domain: group14.local
• Primary DNS Server 8.8.8.8
• Uncheck block RFC1918
