Guide: How to vote on a DAO proposal - Hemis-Blockchain/Hemis GitHub Wiki

The Hemis Core Team believes democracy to be cradle of civilization. And with this in mind we have made participating in the DAO as easy as possible. Everything can be done through the GUI client.

How to vote

In order to vote on community proposals (DAO budget proposals) you need to have at least 1 Gamemaster and your client needs to be synced.

Open your Hemis client and click on the DAO button. A new tab will open up showing you all current and active proposals.

This is where you cast your actual vote. You either select Yes or No and then click on Select Voting Gamemasters

Here you either click Select All or you individually select the Gamemasters you want to vote with.

After you are done you click SELECT VOTES and you are back in the first pop-up screen. You can now click Vote and a confirmation message will pop-up on the bottom of your Hemis client saying Vote emitted succesfully

Thats it. You voted and thats awesome.

How to change your vote

If you change your mind about a proposal you can change your vote up till pretty much the last moment. Your vote is not a blockchain transaction, it is just a network message that tells your Gamemaster what to do when the Superblock arrives.

To change your vote you simply just click on the Vote button underneath the proposal again. In the pop-up you select Yes or No like the first time. This time around you will see that rather than Select Voting Gamemasters it will say You have voted with X Gamemasters for this proposal. Change votes. Simply click the button and select your Gamemasters. Press "Vote" again and a new vote will be sent out that overrides your previous vote. Note that it may take up to an hour before you are allowed to cast a new vote.

How can I see more information about the vote?

The Hemis client gives you a basic overview of how the vote is going. For more information you can click the triple dots next to the proposal name.

If you then click More Info you'll get a pop up with some more information on the proposal, Such as the number of yes and no votes.
