Accessibility - HeladoDeBrownie/Nexus GitHub Wiki
Overview
The game's accessibility design should address the following (potentially overlapping) demographics:
- colorblind people
- deaf people
- disabled people
- people of color
- plural systems
- trans people
Outside of these, blindness support may be tricky to get right due to the highly visual nature of the game, so it is not considered a priority, but may be considered if convenient.
This page may be updated if we decide to include other demographics.
The following sections contain notes on specific elements of the accessibility design.
Considerations
General considerations include:
- Allow controls to be remapped / reconfigured
- Ensure that all areas of the user interface can be accessed using the same input method as the gameplay
- Ensure that all settings are saved/remembered
Considerations for Colorblind People
- Ensure no essential information is conveyed by a colour alone – By default, essential information will be conveyed by colors alone, but it will be possible to override world colors with the player's choice of colors.
