What 😕

Git is a version control system, which is basically the practice of tracking and managing changes to software code (text files). Github is a hosting service, built om top of git, to manage git repositories.

Why 💡

• It is a great version control and collaboration tool for ongoing projects.
• A tool to ease documentation and development of code/analysis in the Hansen group and Phenomics platform.
• Sharing for publication purposes

How 😅

You need to install git and have a github user.
Then you just need to know some basic git commands ... . Go to the "Get_started" directory to get started.

Usage 🔨

This is a work in progress, but I would suggest users to create a project directory that is somewhat self-explanatory.

Disclaimer 😱

Be alert that you should only share code and data that comply with GDPR, regardsless of using a private directory.
