Find a CAN Break

Steps

  1. Plug REV Hardware Client into any Spark Max or the PDH (which looks like this https://www.revrobotics.com/rev-11-1850/)
  2. Find where the Spark Maxes stop registering in REV Hardware Client
  3. Check these (wiring/ hardware) issues that may cause a break around the first Spark Max that doesn't register:
  • Wire snaps
    • Check this visually, summon electrical team to fix it
  • CAN isn't plugged into the Spark Max all the way
    • Check this visually: When it's plugged in all the way, it should sit almost flush with the opening
    • The first image below is plugged in fine but the wire itself is coming out of the plug (the green one is hanging on by one piece of wire), which should be fixed if you ever see it (summon electrical team). The second image is harder to see but the plug is flush with the opening.
    • Fix it by stuffing the white plug back into the "v-" port with your fingernails and make sure it goes in all the way. If it doesn't plug in, flip the white plug piece upside down and it will. You can test it by jiggling it (it shouldn't come out).
  • Solder crimp fails
    • Check this by tugging at the wires on each end of these little tubes:
    • You can use a lot of force here because if you can manually rip it apart it needs to be redone. Again summon electrical team to fix it if the crimp fails.
