Need Statement

A school is interested in an interactive educational machine for playschool students which helps them to identify and match the colour of the object . It should be attractive to the kids and encourage in learning about colours.

4.1 Question and answer

Problem definition version 4.1

Design a semi-automatic multilevel car parking machine, which can correctly identify the colour of the car with accuracy and park the cars in respective coloured slots. Machine should be aesthetically pleasing and easy to carry. Finally it should reinforce the user.

4.3 Identifying Constraints

Problem definition version 4.2:

Design a semi-automatic multilevel car parking machine, which can correctly identify the colour of the car with accuracy and park the cars in respective coloured slots. Machine should be aesthetically pleasing and easy to carry. Finally it should reinforce the user. The machine should have maximum of four slots for cars. It should not exceed 2ft x 2ft x 2ft in dimensions and 1.5kg in weight. Machine should be suitable for the kids below 5yrs of age. Machine should be ready within 3 months and budget should not exceed Rs 3000.

4.4 Establish Functions

Problem definition version 4.3:

Design a semi-automatic multilevel car parking model which should be able to park maximum of four cars in four slots one above the other. The machine should be able to detect the colour of the car and match it with the colour of the slot. The detected colour should be displayed on the screen with the voice message. When all the slots are full,machine should close the gate and reward the kid. The machine should not exceed 2ft x 2ft x 2ft in dimensions and 1.5kg in weight. Machine should be attractive and aesthetically pleasing to the kids. Overall budget should not exceed Rs 2000.
