Everything started with a template for Flanders meshes published in the Kantbrief of 2004-1. It appeared possible to cut rectangular tiles from the irregular shapes containing the stitches. Combining these tiles with a JavaScript lead to an online generator. For hands-on training on OO development in theory and Java in practice, lace diagrams served as a use case. This ran a bit out of hand with the BobbinWork project. Being limited to core java and a custom XML for various reasons, the project finally ran into dead ends.
DiBL explores possibilities to use existing technologies with a patchwork of proof of concepts.
