Your safety is of the highest importance to our lab group and the University. You will need to coordinate with the lab technician or Brenda Cameron to complete in-person Site Specific Safety Orientations for each lab room you intend to work in (Gremer, Schmitt, Strauss).

Please search for and complete the following required online safety trainings through the Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Heat Illness Prevention
  • UC Laboratory Safety Fundamentals
  • UC General Compliance Briefing: University of California Ethical Values and Conduct
  • UC Cyber Security Awareness Fundamentals
  • UC Preventing Harassment and Discrimination
  • UC Abusive Conduct in the Workplace

Please complete the following lab specific safety trainings through Risk and Safety Solutions

  • Lab Hazard Assessment Acknowledgement
  • PPE Training (following acknowledgement)

If you will work in any of the greenhouses on campus- including Orchard Park- please find a time to complete the Greenhouse Safety Training. You will need to submit your certificate to the greenhouse manager to obtain an Orchard Park key.

CEF Safety Training is required for entrance into the Controlled Environment Facility to use growth chambers. Access is granted through the Aggie Access sign in portal.
