Background

What happens when a few weeks before your big summer backpacking trip you realize you haven't even picked a trail? Enter Nomad. With just a few clicks our interactive trip planner will you help you put together a trip so good your family and friends will think you have been planning for months.

Using our specially designed map from Mapbox you can quickly locate and read information on hiking and backpacking trails all over the country. Once you've found a trail you like you can use our trip planner to put together everything you'll need to hike there including ranger's office locations, weather and wildlife data, and supplies you may want to bring. All of this is nicely packed away as a trip on your account for you to reference later either from your personal calendar or a dedicated trips page.

Overview

In order to get our web app functioning properly we will need to:

• Pull location data from Hiker, a trail data API, to mark locations of trails on our map
• Use additional Hiker information to show user's trail information
• Create a database for user's and their trips
• Create a step by step process of planning a hiking trip that takes in user input
• Manage individual user's calendars and multitude of trips
