Quick Start
Hint: For N64, you can switch between Rumble and Memory paks with the Home button
- If required, create or connect your cables to the RetroRosetta unit by following the guide for your system
- Making sure your intended console is turned off, connect all the controller cables to the console in the correct player order
- Turn on your console, the power LED (Green) on the RetroRosetta unit should light up, and the status LED (Red) should flash
- Put your controller into pairing mode, for tips follow the pairing guide for your controller below.
- The status LED (Red) will stop flashing when the first controller is paired
- To pair more controllers for 2-4 players, press the Pair button for 3-5 seconds to go into pairing mode again

Button Quick Guide
- Pair (Left Button):
- Short press < 3 sec (Outside Pairing mode): Disconnect all Bluetooth devices from the adapter.
- Short press (When in pairing mode): Cancel pairing.
- Button press between > 3 sec and < 6 sec (All LEDs blink slowly): Start pairing mode.
- Button press between > 6 sec and < 10 sec (All LEDs blink fast): Factory reset ESP32 to original BlueRetro firmware the device shipped with & reset configuration.
- Reboot (Right Button): Reboot the RetroRosetta unit.

PS4 & PS5
First pairing
1. Press and hold the Share & PS buttons simultaneously until the LED blinks white.
2. The colour on the controller will change once the pairing is complete.
Reconnect
Press the PS button to reconnect to the RetroRosetta unit.
Xbox One S, Series X|S & Adaptive controller
Setup
As of v1.2.1 the minimum required Xbox firmware for the controllers are:
Xbox One S: 4.8.1923.0
Adaptive: 4.5.1680.0
Series X|S: 5.9.2709.0
Update via the Xbox accessories Win10 app.
First pairing
1. Power on the controller via the Xbox button and then hold the black sync button until the logo blinks.
2. The logo on the controller will stop blinking once pairing is complete.
Reconnect
Hold the Xbox button for a small moment to power on the controller and it will reconnect to the RetroRosetta unit.
Switch Pro & Joycon
First pairing
1. Press and hold the sync button until the LEDs moves in a left/right pattern.
2. LEDs will stop the pattern on the controller once pairing is complete.
Reconnect
Press any button twice on controller and it will reconnect to the RetroRosetta unit.
Wii & WiiU Pro
Setup
1+2 pairing is not supported.
First pairing
1. Press red Sync button
2. The LEDs on the controller will stop blinking once pairing is complete.
Reconnect
Press any button on the controller and it will reconnect to the RetroRosetta unit.
8bitdo
Setup
As of v1.2.1 the minimum required 8bitdo firmware for their controllers is:
SF30: v1.37
Gbros adapter: v2.25
Update via the 8bitdo Win10 app.
First pairing
1. Power up the 8bitdo controller in Xinput mode (Start + X or set switch to X) (Only Xinput mode is supported)
2. Press and hold the sync button until the LEDs flashes.
3. The LEDs will stop their pattern on the controller once pairing is complete.
Reconnect
Press Start on the controller and it will reconnect to the RetroRosetta unit.
Retro-Bit
First pairing
1. Power up Retro-Bit controller in Xinput mode (Home + X) (Only Xinput mode supported)
2. If done properly 2 LEDs will flash.
3. The LEDs will stop flashing on controller once pairing is complete and the rumble will trigger.
Reconnect
Press Home on the controller and it will reconnect to the RetroRosetta unit.
PS3
Setup
Note only official PS3 controllers are supported.
First pairing
Windows
1. Download and install the [Sixaxis Pair Tool](http://www.mediafire.com/file/imhhi7j45j2xy8v/SixaxisPairToolSetup-0.3.1.exe/file)
2. Determine the BlueRetro MAC address
a) Open https://blueretro.io/ in a chrome web browser (desktop/android)
b) Navigate to "BlueRetro System Manager"
c) Click on "Connect BlueRetro"
d) Pair your device
e) On connection the MAC address of the device will be shown, write it down.
3. Connect your PS3 controller to your PC using a USB cable that supports data.
4. Launch Sixaxis pair tool and type in the address found in step #2.
5. Click update, once done disconnect the controller from PC.
6. Boot up the RetroRosetta unit and press the PS button, the controller should connect.
OSX
1. Install prerequisites (macOS)
1. Install Homebrew https://brew.sh/
2. Install required libs & packages
2. Compile the sixpair binary
If everything went well you should now have a sixpair executable at ~/Documents/sixpair.
3. Determine the BlueRetro MAC address
1. Open https://blueretro.io/ in a chrome web browser (desktop/android)
2. Navigate to "BlueRetro System Manager"
3. Click on "Connect BlueRetro"
4. Pair your device
5. On connection the MAC address of the device will be shown, write it down.
6. Open a shell terminal and set the master PS3 address to BlueRetro MAC address
Reconnect
Press PS button to reconnect to the RetroRosetta unit.
