Project Status - Gowiem/Sisyphus GitHub Wiki

End of Semester 1

Overview

Current Staging Site

Design

The student side wireframes have been completed and developed. We are currently working on the visual design and styling of the student view website, as well as checking the working site to make sure the interactions are correct and there are no bugs. The faculty wireframes have been completed and have been given to development.

Development

We are currently working on building out the faculty screen, fixing any issues revolving around the projects screen, and adding testing. We hope to have all of that ironed out by late January. Current code can be found on the Sisyphus GitHub repo. Any existing bugs/problems are logged as issues.

Future Plans (as of End of Semester 1)

Design

Right now, we are using Twitter Bootstrap to jumpstart the styling process but eventually, the website will have its own distinct branding and identity.

Development

Once we are finished with the work mentioned above we plan on integrating Google Drive and perfecting the invitation/registration feature. By the middle of next semester we hope to have all of the wireframes completed and tested. From there we plan to move onto iterating with the design team according to the feedback from our beta testers.

Prospective Timeline

Current Status (End of Spring Semester 2)

Overview

In our second semester EasyGroup progressed significantly. We changed the name to WeTeam, and designed a fitting logo around it. The designers completely restyled the WeTeam student site and iterated on user feedback, while the developers implemented the faculty dashboard and fixed any bugs and issues on the student site and backend. Finally we were able to deploy the site to a Northeastern engineering class who used WeTeam to facilitate their final semester project.

Design

The design team created iterated on our custom styling kit we’ve dubbed ‘Flat UI’. It features bright colors on matte style components compressed and overlayed over a light grey background. The result was a clean, professional, and inviting overhaul of WeTeam’s visual feel. Additionally the designers conducted interviews and reviewed individual user testimonials to optimize individual interactions like creating, completing and disputing tasks.

Development

Development spent significant time on both the WeTeam Faculty and Student portals. On the student site we fixed bugs and streamlined interactions while experimenting with features like Google Drive integration and a newsfeed for important events. The faculty site grew slowly over the semester and involved numerous data model changes and code iterations to appropriately handle the 'Professor' object the faculty site introduced to our schema.
