Here i will compile my findings of the daily goings on concerning the week 3 and 4 of the tech track course.
Monday november 2nd:
Today we started with a general lecture about where we stand in the course. I appear to be somewhat behind schedule. These next two weeks are going to be decisive in wether i succesfully complete this course. I then started on assembling my frontend-data repository, neatly dividing my Wiki in sections to allow for beter management and critiquing I then made some sketches of my concept based on the advise of one of the teachers. We then had a lecture on some of the common pitfalls most of us will come across when working with D3.
Unfortunately i was not able to attend the final lecture of the day, for i was occupied with moving back home. The reason i moved back home was to lighten the load of mantaining a household on my own besides studying 40 hours a week. This will grant me a lot more time and mental energy to invest in my studies and i hope that my overall performance and attitude will reflect this in the coming weeks.
Tuesday november 3rd:
We started with a simple and brief meeting to discuss what the day would look like and then i started working on getting my documentation just right. My knowledge of code is lacking, but that is no excuse to not provide excellent documentation. After that i figured i would continue trying to load in and clean the RDW Data, however i found i was still lacking in the neccesary skils, so i went back to FreeCodeCamp and completed the Basic Data Structures course so i could atleast get comfortable with manipulating objects and arrays.
Then we had a lecture from an old student Rijk van Zanten who operates out of New york City. He explained how you could combine data API's so as to prepare it for datavisualisation. He also discussed with the teachers about handling issues and request so as to not destroy your bitrate. I found the lecture hard to follow due to my lack of experience, but it was nice to see that it a solution doesn't have to be too complex. I then finally started working with D3 by follow the guides provided by Curran Kelleher.
