Week 1:

  • Thought about doing a fire extinguisher robot

Week 2:

  • Thought about fire extinguisher robot functionality and high-level project implementation.

Week 3:

  • Decided as a group to work on hand controlled robot vehicle.
  • Researched micro-controllers to use.
  • Explored accelerometer options in terms of which is easiest to interface with chosen micro-controllers.

Week 4:

  • Ordered accelerometer, transmitter/receiver pair, and motor drivers.
  • Explored options to program the Atmeg328 microcontroller.

Week 5:

  • Learned How to use EagleCAD
  • Edited receiver preliminary schematic.

Week 6:

  • Edited preliminary receiver and transmitter schematics.
  • Ordered voltage regulators and 4 Atmega328 microcontrollers.

Week 7:

  • Started on final Rx and Tx schematic with Yebin.
  • Solved all Rx and Tx schematic errors.
  • Created Tx layout and helped with Rx board layout.

Week 8:

  • Edited Rx and Tx board layouts; made VCC traces thicker, repositioned caps and resistors, and added top and bottom ground planes.

Week 9:

  • Worked with Yebin to test Tx/Rx modules.

Week 10:

  • Purchased batteries.
  • Debugged the software.
  • Mounted PCBS on robot and glove with velcro.
