  1. Placement of players and monsters are limited to certain areas.

  2. Victory Conditions

A. Heroes Win The goal of the Heroes is to move from their start square to an exit square and then leave the area. The Heroes are playing as a team so all players must make it to the exit for any of them to win. The Heroes also win if all Monsters are killed.

B. Overlord Win The goal of the Overlord is to stop the Heroes from exiting the area and must do so by disabling all of the Heroes. All of the Heroes must be disabled at the same time so that no active Hero can revive any of the other Heroes.

  1. Turns work as such that Overlord goes after players and players order is based on positioning when characters are placed in the entrance area.

  2. Players can do two actions per turn, these can be used for any action/movement.

  3. Overlord can have monsters only do 1 action or two movements.

  4. Movement is based upon the chosen, character’s movement limit. (monsters have movement limits as well) If a movement is chosen that’s beyond the movement limit they will not be moved until an movement is chosen that is within the limit.

  5. Both players and monsters move in straight/diagonally lines, cannot move around a corner without using two movement actions.

  6. Attacking is based upon roll of the die, you will get given the die that are required for your character to attack. You can only attack when you have direct line of sight on enemy.

A. Melee attacks are requiring just one range point from a die to hit as they can only be done when right in front of an enemy, to do damage you must get one damage point from a die.

B. Ranged attacks require the range points that equal to the distance between the attacker and the enemy, attack fails if range points are not equal or higher. To do damage you must get one damage point from a die.

C. All attacks have a chance to critically fail presented by an “X” symbol on a die, if that shows the attack will not occur and the action will be used up still as an result.

  1. Defending against attacks is possible however one damage will be taken from each attack to avoid everlasting battles, to defend you role the defence die and the defence points shown take away that amount of damage given.

  2. Healing can be done by any side however it will take up an action, meaning if a monster does it they can do nothing more, when healing is chosen an die will be rolled and the amount of healing points shown will give that amount of health back until max health is reached.

  3. Damage

A. When players health drops to 0 or below they fall unconscious and can do no more actions or movements, unless revived, however they can still take damage if specifically targeted by overlord. Monsters can walk onto or over the tile that the player is unconscious on.

B. Monsters when heath drops to 0 or below are permanently killed and cannot be revived.

  1. Players can revive others using one of their two actions where they can roll two healing die, the combined amount of healing points heals the unconscious player’s damage, when player’s health has gone above 0 they are conscious again and can no longer be healed that way until they are unconscious again.
