Select: Menu Bar -> Tools -> Options... to get to the Options Popup.

Different kind of intervals can be enabled for auto-discovery, the results are maintained in memory while the program is running, and saved to the athlete folder cache/rideDB.json on exit to avoid re-computation. Since this increases the memory and disk footprint, they can be selectively disabled for performance reasons when you have too many activities for your hardware configuration.
