Minimum Run Time - Godrigos/PCRCalc GitHub Wiki

The PCR Cycle column presents a small tool to estimate the minimum run time of a PCR analysis according to the times you specified to each step of the cycle. I call it minimum run time, because it does not take into account the time each thermocycler takes to alter between the temperatures of each step of the reaction (so yes, the temperature fields are merely illustrative). It only calculates raw values, so you analysis will always take a little longer than the value presented.

The default are zeros to all fields, and you alter them as you wish to estimate the minimum run time. You can import run "models" by checking the Import from model button, that will enable the selection box above it, so you can select a model that will fill the cycle fields automatically. At this point only two models are available (ITS, 16S rRNA) based on bibliography.

If you wish, you may add new models to the selection box by editing the file cycle.json in the presets folder installed along with PCRCalc, just be careful to not corrupt the file.

The _comment and Hold fields are optional, the others are mandatory.
