The USB C-thru at least needs DUT to work.

The DUT can be connected the USB C-thru on the plug side. This is the basic set up to use the USB C-thru.

On the other end we can connect to a Host/tester/Development board using any of the following cables:

  1. USB Type-C with PD

  2. USB Type-C without PD

  3. Legacy USB to USB Type-C cable

You will need an oscilloscope or a multi meter like instrument to measure the signals and the voltage. As show in the following setup:
