pagedrop was designed with a very simple purpose in mind: to provide a platform for communities at large to easily have access to provide and receive books and reading materials in a fun, unique, and engaging way. To achieve this, we realized that taking the project open-source and allowing the project to be easily cloned and redeployed across the world was the only way to have the impact we really want to have.

While pagedrop is an open-source project, but we attempt to avoid any misunderstandings and clarify that pagedrop also a commercial platform as required to provide continued and consistent support to the software and services related to the project.

At it's core, pagedrop is an open-ended book exchange system that allows for anonymous tracking of the book's location as it travels from user-to-user. Incorporated is also many direct book-swap and trade tools, as well as utilizing Discourse to provide a completely new take on community interaction for each specific pod.

Planned shortly after launch are physical drop locations that can be launched and placed independently around neighbourhoods and communities.
