What is this?

Imperial Commander is an unofficial companion app for Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars: Imperial Assault. The app eliminates the need for an Imperial player by taking on the role of a "narrator" who controls the Imperial side.

Inspired by Fantasy Flight Games' official Legends of the Alliance app, Imperial Commander allows players to experience the official, printed missions in a way very close to the official app. The app takes over the role of a "game master", providing interactive maps, handles events, narration, and the behavior of Imperial groups.

Imperial Commander can be used to play all boxed campaigns, any side mission, and even custom missions. It supports all expansions, Ally and Villain packs.

Additionally, Imperial Commander features a fully fleshed-out mission editor for you to create your very own Imperial Assault missions to play in the app and share with others.

Requirements

To use Imperial Commander, you need a physical copy of the core game as well as any expansions you wish to use. Otherwise, you won't be able to use this app.

Rules

Imperial Commander contains many rules changes, mainly to harmonize the coop experience with the official app rules. If you come across a situation where the rules are not clear, don‘t fret over what to do. Just make a decision based on your best judgment. Unless otherwise stated, normal Imperial Assault rules apply.

Game Modes

Campaign

"Campaign" Mode uses a campaign manager to guide you through a full campaign using the expansion of your choice (or a fully custom campaign). It sets up the proper mission list, and allows mission customization where allowed, including adding and removing Forced missions. Campaign mode acts as a "virtual campaign log" that allows you to keep track of XP, credits and rewards, your heroes, their skills and items, general items you've purchased, earned villains, and allies. All of these can be added and removed from the campaign as you see fit. The campaign is auto-saved.

Mission

"Mission" is meant to be used to play one-off missions, or for groups who want to play campaigns with the printed campaign log.

The Imperial Commander Editor

The Imperial Commander Editor (ICE) was also introduced with Imperial Commander 2. It is a tool that allows creators to create their own custom missions, campaigns, heroes, allies, villains, and enemies. It is an easy-to-use, but powerful tool that aims to give players all the freedoms they need to create their own epic STAR WARS adventures.
