Adding Images
-
As a general rule, try to upload images that are at least 1920px wide. WordPress will then automatically create cropped versions of the image for thumbnails, medium-sized images, and large-sized images.
-
For a good balance of quality and speed, try not to upload images much larger than 2000px wide.
-
When adding an image into the body of a post or page, be sure to use the 'Medium' size. The site will not display them within the body any larger than this.
-
In the WordPress media interface, be sure to add an "Alternative Text" tag that describes the image. This is for users that may be navigating the site with assistive technologies. You can also include a caption (which will show up on the website), and a Photo Credit (which will show up after the caption).
