General Procedure

At ISN recruit we mostly recruit our participants through Stellenwerk Hamburg. You can also find a folder with previous participants in the MR buildling (W32). Please as the MTRAs for it.

Fro recruiting participant, the Lab recruitment smartphone (black Samsung A32) must be used. The phone number of this phone is 0152-28841832. The email client on this phone is configured for the recruitment email address ([email protected]). When using email on the phone you don't need the authentication via the FortiToken app. It is therefore recommended that all email are written and received on the smartphone. All emails to participants MUST be sent from the account [email protected].

For posting an experiment to Stellenwerk, go to their website, click on Jobbörse / Job anbieten, then login in or register an account. Post the job ad as nicht-gewerbliche Anzeigen / Uni interne Stellenangaben. As contact phone list the phone of the recruiting smartphone

It is helpful to write them a bit cheerful and positive (here is an example). IMPORTANT: When participants respond to the job add via email, they have to include a sentence giving permission to be contacted via phone or email. Unfortunately, contacting participant via messaging apps (WhatsApp, Signal, Messenger, etc.) is not allowed.

Recruiting for fMRI studies

When you are recruiting for fMRI, it is advisable to send the MR questionnaires

  • Aufklärung MR-Untersuchung
  • Einwilligung Datenspeicherung
  • Fragebogen MR-Untersuchung

and

  • the study-specific information (Allgemeine Aufklärung)
  • informed consent form (Einwilligungserklärung).

to the participants before they arrive for their appointment. Ask them to fill out the form and email it back to the email address [email protected]. If they answer any of the questions on the Fragebogen with YES, you should discuss it with the person running the study or with me (Jan), if they can still participate. In case of doubt, it might be advisable to consult with one of the MR physicians (prior to the appointment with them).

Appointment with MR physicians

Every MRI participant has be seen by an MR physician, who will discuss the participant's response to the "Fragebogen MR-Untersuchung" with them and approve the MR measurement. These appointments take place on Zoom and should be scheduled by writing them an email. The Fragebogen that the participant has filled out should be uploaded to this UKE box. +This needs to be completed+

Recruiting for EEG studies

EEG studies do NOT require approval by the MR physicians. Participants should receive the

  • general information about EEG studies (here is a template of UHH Psychology)
  • the study-specific information (Allgemeine Aufklärung)
  • informed consent form (Einwilligungserklärung).
