Dash Update Q3 2016 - GitGuild/gitguild_website GitHub Wiki

Dash Update

Transparency

DtoG

The Git Guild (formerly Deginner) is committed to transparent operations. Since beginning to work with Dash, we've made many advancements in this effort, including fund control, and complete visibility into the development process.

All amounts in this update are US$ values of our (partially Dash backed) currency Guildcoin. Dash community members are cosigners on the main Dash Guildcoin wallet.

Dash fund allocation

The following is a summary of the Dash expenditures so far. Note that in this double-entry accounting system, Income is negative and Expenses are positive. Assets is the current balance of unallocated Guildcoin. Bounties are commitments to sponsor tasks, and 95% are as yet unearned and are held in escrow by the respective project maintainers.

Accounting Category Total
Assets:TGG $6,175.00
Expenses & Bounties $60,925.00
Expenses:GP $19,425.00
Bounties:Broker $5,000.00
Bounties:Exchange $5,000.00
Bounties:Lamassu $15,000.00
Bounties:TAPP $7,500.00
Bounties:Trading $5,000.00
Bounties:Wallet $4,000.00
Income -$67,100.00
Income:DashLamassu -$24,600.00
Income:MarketRamps -$42,500.00

Note that the Lamassu project has had some feature and budget creep. Some of the market ramps funds have been allocated to Lamassu, but these also represent new features not included in the original DashLamassu proposal, such as integration of framework wallet, broker, and trade manager. This represents a second stack, which is discussed in more depth below.

All Git Guild work is done on Github, using transparent, open source methodologies. We welcome and often are able to financially compensate contributors. The best place to start is by reading our Technical Overview, and checkout the list of our active repositories.

Lamassu Update

The Lamassu project has had a long and winding road, with one major fork. Now both forks are approaching a milestone at the same time.

Lamassu Upgradable

Details: https://github.com/GitGuild/gitguild_website/wiki/Git-Guild-Technical-Overview#dashlamassu-upgradable

Today we're happy to announce the merging of the Dash and Ethereum code bases authored by our team and Lamassu respectively. Though the process is still technically challenging, Lamassu operators will be able to add Dash support side by side with Bitcoin and Ethereum. We hope to ease the user experience over time, but are committed to not moving ahead of Lamassu on this fork, to stay as close to their official stack as possible.

After an initial release with Dashd and Poloniex, Lamassu surprised us by releasing a Ethereum branch. Though this was announced with a press release and much fanfare, it is important to note that the ETH branch is still alpha, and has not been merged to the Lamassu master. Due to this uncertainty, our team is now developing 1-2 months behind lamassu's ETH branches.

Tigo CTM launch

TigoCTM

We're happy to help Tigo CTM launch a global Cryptocurrency Teller Machine (CTM) network.

Tigo CTMs are manufactured by Lamassu with Dash and other value add software pre-installed. Tigo also offers a complete support package for CTM operators that don't want a technical hassle.

For Dash users, Tigo will be an easy source of Dash OEM machines. Those would-be operators that are very technical may find that no additional support is needed, and can begin operating their Dash CTM immediately. Since this has proven to be quite challenging in practice, we expect other Dash operators to take advantage of Tigo's expertise and support.
