For Windows:
Assuming Spyder as well as Python are installed on Windows you perform the following steps to make librarys available in Spyder:
Navigate to the location where you installed Anaconda
cd c:\anaconda2
Create a virtual enviornment:
conda create -n somenameofmyenvironment python=2.7
Activate the virtual environment:
source activate myenv
(Mac)
activate myenv
Install packages to environment:
conda install -n somenameofmyenvironment [packagename]
Install Spyder within the environment:
conda install spyder
Run Spyder:
spyder
Deactivate environment:
source deactivate
(MAC)
Delete environment:
conda remove -n somenameofmyenvironment -all
Provides List with all environments known by conda:
conda env list
